Galactic Reign

I was hired onto my first game working on the Windows Phone platform. I was replacing the previous UI/UX designer and the assets really needed an update. So my main task was to bring that final polish to the game and to find areas to make the user experience better.

Project Overview
OVERHAUL OF DESIGN

My biggest task was to replace every single UI asset with something that was more polished and fit with the style of the game. The game was very futuristic and the UI was really lacking in matching with the gameplay

ICONOGRAPHY

There was no icons made yet for the achievements a user would get from their battles. It was the most important for bragging rights against their friends and competitors. So I had to build out a library of achievements.

EXTRA FLAIR

If time permitted and there were dev resources, I was asked to do whatever I felt was necessary to the UI/UX to really help shine. I felt adding in motion effects would be that extra push we needed for the game.

New year, new UI

Right away, I took every single asset and gave it the tech flair, polish, and hierarchy update they so desperately needed to really make the game fun to interact with outside of gameplay.

Adding in motion effects

Once the full UI update was completed, I decided to try to get in as many motion effects as I could to help some of the UI elements feel more active.

Final Designs

These screens are my final UI designs. These include all the UI changes, special wallpapers based off battle videos, and the icons / achievements library.
